When I first visited Bilsington Priory I instantly fell in love with the place and knew it was the perfect location for a vintage style bridal shoot I was planning.
The Abbey dates back the 11th century and is situated in 1000 acres of Kent countryside. It’s secluded, blissfully peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful.
The shoot has a very period feel as the stunning wedding dresses, veils and all the jewellery are genuine vintage articles from Vintage Charade in Sutton Valence, Kent.
Victoria Clarke provided the amazing flowers, I simply sent her some sketches of the bouquet and headdress I wanted her to create and she took it from there. I envisaged a collection of whites and pale greens and Victoria didn’t disappoint. Her work was truly gorgeous with a selection of white roses and accompanying green foliage which complimented the vintage look very well indeed.
Lucy Moat of Maid – Up Makeup Artistry further enhanced the authentic period feel with a brilliant makeover. We shot in and around the Abbey, and in the seven acres of gorgeous gardens including my favourite, the stunning sunken garden.
I hope you enjoy these images, and if you or any of your friends or family are getting married, please see the credits section below for details of all those who collaborated on this great project.
