Party Photographer Skylon

I was recently invited along as Party Photographer Skylon restaurant London to capture a 21st birthday party.

I’m a big fan of Skylon, having eaten there on a number of occasions in the past. I love the simplicity of the decor whose design echoes the style of the Royal Festival Hall of which it is part. Skylon takes its name from the original iconic structure that was built for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The building itself is a photographers dream as the South side is comprised of almost floor to wall glass. That can provide a bit of a challenge on a sunny Summers day, especially as the low evening sun shines directly through the glass, but I was able to use it to my advantage.

This is a favourite shot from this Summer party which I particularly like. I captured this image early in the evening when the birthday girl and her closest friends were acting a little bit camera shy. The flowers were absolutely stunning and I wanted to incorporate them into the shot, so when the girls moved to the window, it was an ideal opportunity to combine the two in one frame.
