Curious Eatery Secret Supper Club

I was recently invited along to photograph another successful evening hosted by The Curious Eatery Secret Supper Club. On this occasion it was held in the quirky setting of Anno Distillers in Marden, Kent.

Anno Distillers are a small artisanal spirits producer based in the heart of the Kent Countryside. They source a secret blend of local hops along with lavender from the award winning Downderry Nursery. Elderflower and rose hips are infused with their unique ingredient of samphire from the Romney Marsh.

Using the backdrop of Patience, Anno’s beautiful copper-pot still, Angela from Room Seven Interiors wove her magic once more to create an autumnal rustic setting with more than a hint of Willy Wonka!

The starter was typically beautiful to behold and tasted sublime! Venison Carpaccio accompanied by a pistachio, lemon and honey dressing with an Anno gin and tonic jelly – yum! The main course consisted of aromatic beef cheeks with cinnamon and coriander and also red mullet escabeche with star anise and orange – so inviting to photograph and tasted heavenly!

Dessert was very Willy Wonkaesque with toffee apples. lollipops and Curious Bars with a golden ticket for one lucky recipient.
