Tonbridge Family Photography
Here is another Tonbridge Family Photography session that I was recently commissioned to shoot. This was my third shoot with Katie, Mark and the boys the last being three years ago.
Last time we met for a photo shoot was down at Camber Sands, but we fancy a change so agree to meet at the family home and shoot there. We are lucky that they have plenty of space to run around and burn energy so it fits the bill nicely.
It doesn’t take much encouragement for Mark and the boys to head off into the garden to kick a ball about. I love unplanned initiatives where the boys ignore me and get on with enjoying themselves. It makes my job of capturing their interactions so much easier.
We had very luckily chosen a sunny Autumn afternoon for our shoot and were rewarded with gorgeous light. I love October and it’s no coincidence that it’s my busiest month of the year. Not only is the light softer and the shadows more elongated, but Autumn’s colours are so much warmer than Summer’s. Green leaves give way to yellows, golds and vibrant reds – gorgeous!
Mark is keen to show me his latest acquisition; a beautiful pale green shepherds hut, except this is no ordinary shelter; but rather a luxurious home office on wheels with all the mod cons. It’s an amazing piece of craftsmanship and I can really see the attraction of a workspace away from the distractions of family life.
I decide that the hut would make the perfect background for our slightly more formal shots. The colour is just perfect for our needs and the boys are happy to pose on the steps of the hut of their individual portraits.
We round up the session with a seated portrait on the terrace, followed by tea and cake on the terrace. What a special day!
I really hope you enjoy looking at this collection of my favourite images from the shoot. If you would like to book your own session please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
