Berkshire Party Photographer

Here’s another single preview image that I absolutely love, captured at a 21st birthday celebration at the magnificent surroundings of Lillibrooke Manor in Maidenhead where I had the great honour to be a Berkshire party Photographer.

Those who are aware of my work will know that my party photography is largely an unobtrusive observation of the evening’s proceedings with very little intervention. I do however, like to capture a few portraits of the birthday girl (or boy!)

After an introduction and a chat with the party hosts I have quick a scouting session of the venue to get the lay of the land before the guests arrive and then I am ready to shoot. For me that quite often means an evening with very little verbal interaction with the guests. My aim is to fade into the background so that I am quickly ignored by the party goers. That leaves them to get on with the task of enjoying themselves without worrying about me and my cameras.  At an appropriate moment during the evening I will take a few informal portraits of the guest of honour, usually without dragging them away from the evening’s festivities. It literally takes a few minutes as in this striking portrait of Ella.
