Family Photographer Sevenoaks

I was thrilled when Isabelle called me to ask if I would photograph her family at their home near Sevenoaks. She had picked up one of my flyers locally and was particularly taken by an image of three siblings in a bath which she wanted me to replicate.

I arrived at Isabelle and Martin’s house on a boiling hot September afternoon and set about exploring to look for the best locations. During these little explorations I’m not only looking for a pleasant place to capture family photographs, I’m also searching for the rooms with the most complimentary light.

There were plenty of framed photographs of the family displayed all around the house but as the boys hadn’t been photographed by a professional since they were very young, I was really looking forward to the challenge!

We had a choice of two rooms for the bath shot and after a bit of experimenting, decided on the slightly smaller of the two primarily because of the beautiful light filtering through the skylight from above. There was just about enough room for me to crouch down at the boys eye level and then it was simply a case of making them laugh!

We then spent a couple of hours playing in the garden with the boys and their cousins who arrived in time to be part of the fun.
